What is a community group?
A Community Group is a place to experience biblical community. We meet in homes, for an informal discussion, sharing needs and hopes, and seeing God work through one another as our lives are transformed.
Willamette’s goal for our Community Groups is to build relationship and true community centered around obedience and accountability to the Word of God. Groups spend time praying together, processing the Sunday sermons and connecting in friendship. Most groups meet either weekly or every two weeks at a set time and location.
In order for us to support our faithful and committed Community Group leaders, we offer CG placement at the beginning of each season. Since we believe that growth happens with the support of trusting friends, we choose to limit mid-season introductions in order to ensure a safe and consistent environment for each group. This continuity creates relational traction and helps group members grow and trust. As we forge friendships around obedience to God’s Word and in sync with Willamette’s sermon series, we value the unity and cohesion of each group as they pursue Christ together.
