Buds of Promise Baby Dedication
WHAT IS BABY DEDICATION?
- An opportunity to thank God for the precious gift of your child.
- An opportunity to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home.
- A family dedication, where the parents commit themselves to abide by biblical principles and to raise their children according to God’s standards.
- Sharing with our church family the responsibility and joy of raising your child with the unconditional love of Jesus.
WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES ARE INVOLVED?
Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to make Jesus their Forever Friend.
Some responsibilities include:
- Teaching and training the child in God’s Word, the Bible
- Providing Christian education at home and at church
- Demonstrating an example of godliness
- Discipling according to God’s ways
- Praying earnestly for the child
Dedications are for babies up to two years of age.
Our next baby dedication will be on Sunday, November 6th, during the 11am service.
